Curfs Logistics, a family business with approximately 140 employees, specializes in transport, warehousing and order picking. Given the high level of staff engagement and the company's quality standards, it is crucial that all employees are constantly up to date with internal developments, follow the appropriate procedures and attend regular training courses. This is also essential for obtaining and maintaining the necessary certifications.
Previously, the newsletter, the handbook and the training courses were distributed via various channels, which not only increased the threshold for taking a training course, for example, but also led to limited access to information. Because not all employees have a PC or laptop, not all information could reach everyone and there was little interaction.
To address these challenges, an all-in-one solution was chosen: a staff app that brings together all important communications and training. The project started with the creation of a web application for administrators, in which they can easily manage newsletters, training courses and handbooks. This application is easy to use and only accessible to authorized administrators.
A Progressive Web App (PWA) has been developed for employees that is as user-friendly as a regular app, but without the high development costs of a Native app. The app is simple to use and, after logging in, provides access to all important information, such as newsletters, handbooks, damage reports and training courses.
Users only receive the information that is relevant to them, depending on their role. The app has a uniform layout and works on all mobile phones, so that every employee can access the necessary information anytime, anywhere.
Within Curfs Logistics, it is not only important to inform employees when, for example, a newsletter has been published, but especially when there are updates to the handbook. To ensure that employees are immediately aware of such changes, there is a possibility to send a push notification to all relevant users of the app in the web application.
Another important aspect of the Staff App is the built-in document system, which is particularly useful for drivers. Based on the vehicle's license plate number, they can always view the current green card and other necessary documents. This reduces the need to print documents and eliminates manual operations, contributing to a more efficient way of working.
