After years of experience in delivering physical savings stamps, the Spaarkoning decided to digitize this concept. In 2016, de Spaarkoning had this developed into a digital savings platform where consumers could save for various rewards in the form of points. Consumers have the option to save via an app or a key card. The affiliated retailer uses a tablet, equipped with the Savings King's business app, to issue or redeem the points. In addition, the retailer can use a web application to gain insight into the required customer data.
After an enthusiastic start, the database of retailers and consumers has increased enormously. The files have grown exponentially in two years, resulting in an increase in maintenance and support. Based on this growth, the Savings King and the then development company decided to each go their separate ways with a view to further development and growth.
In 2019, with a view to a new vision for the future, de Spaarkoning approached Solid Digital to take over the development, support and maintenance of the platform.
Taking over an existing platform is an exciting but interesting challenge. We have identified possible barriers and taken the right steps to take the platform to new heights, with the vision for the future and the growth of the Savings King in mind. First step? The transfer of the server.
The time has come, it was time to move the platform and install it on a new server that is managed by Solid Digital. Optimizing the database was step two. This optimization has saved no less than 40% in space, which immediately resulted in server costs per month for De Spaarkoning. After the transfer of the domain name, the Savings King's platform was brought back online with minimal downtime.
Behind the scenes, the platform continued to develop. It is equipped with the latest security techniques and is fully equipped in accordance with AVG legislation. Given the good dynamic between De Spaarkoning and Solid Digital, the platform features several new functionalities, a new commercial website and a completely new layout for the consumer app and business app.
Given the good cooperation, a vision has been developed together with the Spaarkoning for the short and long term. In the short term, Solid Digital will mainly focus on the user experience, making it even easier for retailers to add their own rewards and create insights.
In the long term, the existing concept will be further tested and tailored to the latest consumer trends and developments. With a vision and collaboration like this, the platform remains relevant in the future.
